Giraffe

The tallest animal on Earth, often seen browsing acacia treetops.

Giraffes feed on the leaves of acacia and other trees, using their long tongues to avoid the thorns. They are seen in most northern parks, especially Tarangire, Arusha National Park and the Serengeti.

The Masai giraffe, Tanzania's national animal, has jagged, vine-leaf-shaped patches that are easy to tell from other giraffe species.
