Safari experience

Game drives

Explore the parks in a 4x4 with a pop-up roof, guided by someone who knows where to look.

A game drive is the heart of a safari. You travel in a 4x4 vehicle with a pop-up roof, so everyone has a window seat and room to stand for photographs. Your driver-guide reads tracks, behaviour and the landscape to find animals and explain what you are seeing.

The best light is early in the morning and late in the afternoon, when animals are most active and the plains turn gold. Most itineraries combine a morning and afternoon drive, with a break at camp or a picnic lunch in between.

On the northern circuit you can expect elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and, with luck, lions and leopards. We plan routes to give you time at each sighting rather than rushing from one park to the next.
