This safari is designed with families in mind. Drives are kept shorter, we start gently in Arusha National Park and we include activities that children enjoy, such as a short walk with a ranger and a visit to a local community.
Please tell us the ages of your children when you request a quote. Minimum age rules differ between lodges and activities, and we will choose accommodation and activities accordingly.

Day-by-day itinerary

Day1 Arrive in Arusha
Airport transfer to your lodge. Relax by the pool and meet your guide.

Day2 Arusha National Park
A morning game drive, a short walk with an armed ranger and, if the group wishes, a canoe trip on the Momella Lakes.

Day3 Arusha to Tarangire
Drive to Tarangire for an afternoon game drive among elephants and baobabs. Children often enjoy spotting giraffes and zebras here.

Day4 Tarangire to Ngorongoro
Drive to the crater rim with stops for photographs and a visit to a local community, arranged respectfully.

Day5 Ngorongoro Crater and return
Descend into the crater for a morning game drive, then return to Arusha for your onward journey.

Important information
- Visas: most visitors need a visa for Tanzania. Check current requirements for your nationality well before you travel.

- Insurance: travel and medical insurance is strongly recommended and may be required by lodges.
- Luggage: soft-sided bags are best for vehicles and light aircraft, where weight limits often apply.
- Wildlife: sightings cannot be guaranteed and itineraries can change with weather, road and park conditions.
