Black Rhino

Critically endangered and rarely seen, protected in a few places.

Black rhinos are critically endangered. In Tanzania a small number live in protected areas such as Ngorongoro Crater and parts of the Serengeti, where they are closely monitored.

Rhinos are usually seen at a distance. A pair of binoculars is helpful, and it is wise to treat any sighting as a bonus.
